The Adventure
Experience the stunning beauty, the unimaginable vastness, the isolation and wildlife of the best kept African secrets of Botswana, Moremi Savuti and Chobe National Park.
Moremi is the oldest protected section of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. It is because of the bold, local Batawana people that this area was proclaimed Moremi Game Reserve in 1963, making Moremi the oldest and first protected reserve of the Okavango Delta. Moremi Game Reserve is one of the most diverse reserves with surprises everywhere, even for the most seasoned Africa-travellers.
Savuti is possibly less appealing to visit than the Chobe Riverside for families with small children. But it is the kind of place wild life addicts keep returning to, as transformation is always around the corner… Savuti is noted for having a population of lions which prey on African elephants, mostly juveniles or subadults.
Chobe National Park is Botswana’s first national park, and also the most biologically diverse. Located in the north of the country, it is Botswana’s third largest park, after Central Kalahari Game Reserve and Gemsbok National Park, and has one of the greatest concentrations of game in all of Africa.
Please note that this is a true adventure safari as we will be bush camping almost every night. However, the Bhejane crew will make it as comfortable as possible.
The Team
Your tour leader will be an experienced nature conservationist and adventure guide. He will be in radio contact with you at all times and impart a wealth of biological, cultural, historic and four-wheel drive knowledge.
Three meals a day will be prepared by our experienced bush chef in his mobile kitchen, with fresh salads, potjiekos, braais and many other surprises appearing on the menu. The good old “koffie pot” will be on the fire from six till late.
Our logistics crew will pitch and take down the camps at all the overnight stops we visit. Tents and tables are provided by Bhejane Adventures.
This is a true adventure trip with lots of sand and off road driving, but the Bhejane crew do have the “know how” and recovery equipment to assist with off-road problems.

About the Moremi, Savuti Chobe Tour
Adventure Itinerary
Day 1: Maun: Kazikini Camp
Today is the start of exploring the best kept African secrets of Botswana, Moremi Savuti and Chobe National Park. After we have met in Maun, we will make our way to our camp where our bush chef will be preparing your first delicious meal and your evening is spent socializing around the fire and getting to know one another.
Day 2, 3: Moremi Game Reserve
Today we all pack up and leave for Moremi Game reserve where we will stay for two nights in the Moremi Game reserve. We will enter park at South Gate. When we arrive at camp, our tents will be ready and waiting for us, with tea and coffee ready. The Next day we will be doing a game drive in the morning and afternoon in the Third Bridge and Xaxanaxa area.
Day 4, 5: Kwai Area
After Breakfast we will make our way towards Kwai area in the reserve. We will be doing game driving all the way to the Kwai area before we exit the park to stay for two nights in the Kwai community area at Mogotlho camp.
We will spend the next two days travelling through one of the wildest and most remote places in Southern Africa. We will be in an area where the game has free access to wilderness, except for the rustic vehicle tracks, there is nothing else man-made and, without light pollution, the heavenly night skies and solitude will take your breath away.
For these two nights we will be camping wild, listening to the silence and sounds of the night.
Days 6,7: Savuti
After Breakfast we will all travel to Mababe Gate on the Southern side of the Chobe National Park, Savuti. We will travel through the Savuti sand and stay for two nights at Savuti camp. We will be doing game drives in and around the area as well as exploring the Savuti mars area.
Whatever the source of the mystery, the Savute Channel is certainly erratic. In around 2010 the Savute Channel flowed once more, and it is currently dry. It winds through the Gubatsaa hills to seep into the vast, flat floodplain of the Savuti Marsh.
Expect the unexpected Savuti’s changeability has resulted in fascinating animal behaviour: imagine lions that preyed on sub-adult elephant and leopards that caught catfish in the drying mud of the channel
Day 8: Chobe National Park
Our Next Last nights will be Chobe National Park, the ultimate haven for vast herds of elephant – as many as 120,000 of the charismatic animals depend on its life-sustaining waterways as the dry season kicks in. Nowhere else on Earth has more of these remarkable giants; many travels from neighbouring countries to this, the Elephant Capital of Africa. Of course, they’re not alone. Quintessential African game species such as buffalo, zebra and wildebeest swirl around the 11,700km2 park, trailed by the big cats: lion, leopard and cheetah. Spotted hyena is common, wild dog less so, while hippo, crocs and water-loving antelope like the red lechwe call the park home. The skies are alive with some 450 bird species.
We Will be staying in Chobe National Park for one night from where we will be doing a game drives in the Chobe National Park in the Afternoon as well as the next morning before the trip ends with warm breakfast on the banks of the Chobe river.
Day 9: Home
After a lavish breakfast, we must sadly pack up and head for home. We will bid our travelling companions farewell. From here, it is approximately 40km Kasane.
