4.Sunscreen! The sun is HOT especially the months outside of May – August.Hydration, sunscreen and moisturizing lotion is very important, the dry heat will make your skin dry and you will take time to adapt!

5.Make sure you know where the next filling station is – the distances are vast and fuel isn’t always available everywhere especially the smaller villages and towns.

6.Carry sufficient drinking water with you in the car plus extra.

7.Get a Namibian Sim card – they are cheap and available and the data in Namibia is not expensive. How to activate your MTC sim card: Insert your sim card, dial any Namibia cell number to ring, it will activate your sim card.Purchase airtime. Send the airtime pin code to 13200 in a message. To convert to Data: Dial *682#, and follow the USSD code prompts to convert airtime into Data bundles.

8.South-African currency is accepted everywhere in Namibia, carry some Cash with you for the smaller institutions.
